I'm an amateur, so it's entirely possible that some ids are wrong.
Any errors lie solely with Tom Klein.
Note that for many many insects, identification to species is entirely impossible from these sorts of photos. Thankfully there are also many many for which it is possible.
There are undoubtedly many many more insects at Pheasant Branch than appear on this page - these are just a few I happen to have pictures of.
WDNR reports on the fauna of Pheasant Branch Conservancy:
Survey Results Results of a late 1990's WI DNR insect survey of the remnant prairie on Frederick's Hill, coordinated by Richard Henderson.
Digiscoping by Mike McDowell Bird pictures from Pheasant Branch and other locations in the Madison area.
Wisconsin Dragonflies and Damselflies "The goal of this survey is to gain more knowledge about the distributions and habitat requirements of our 160+ species of dragonflies and damselflies (Order Odonata)."
Wisconsin Butterflies Most complete information on butterflies, but also contains sections on tiger beetles and robber flies.
Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey "The primary purpose of the WFTS is to determine the status, distribution, and long-term population trends of Wisconsin's twelve frog species." Contains links to species accounts and calls.
