Dane County to buy 160 acres to expand Pheasant Branch Conservancy

This addition to Pheasant Branch Conservancy will bring so many benefits! With more natural habitat we will provide home for native plants, animals and birds. This property will help us reduce runoff, increase infiltration, prevent flooding and improve water quality downstream. This area will provide additional recreational and environmental educational opportunities. We can expect positive health benefits to spring from this property, as more and more studies are finding that spending time in nature is good for our bodies.

Thanks to all who have helped make this happen! Dane County Executive Parisi and County Board Chair Corrigan. The Acker Family. FOPBC members and volunteers.

Next year, the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy will celebrate its 25th anniversary. We can think of no better tribute to our cause than this expansion to the Conservancy.
