You may have seen this work crew over the past few weeks removing fence posts, fence line and invasive shrubs along Pheasant Branch and Balzar Roads. We have now removed over 300 metal fence posts and the barbed and welded (hog) fencing along nearly .4 miles of the new addition to Pheasant Branch Conservancy. While difficult and demanding work, it is also quite rewarding. When complete the transition from the roadway to the prairie and wetlands will appear nearly seamless. Restoration can involve many aspects of returning land to its natural state, including removing existing farm fencing. It is truly a work of love for this Conservancy.
