Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes the opportunity to see our beautiful prairie come alive! But with all that vibrant native plant growth, we also see unwelcome invasive weeds threatening to take over.
In the Winter of 2020, the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy partnered with Dane County Parks to begin seeding 160 acres of added Conservancy. Now, five years later, to keep our prairie thriving, we are seeking a dedicated group of volunteers to join our Summer Weed Management Crew! This crew will work every other Wednesday throughout the summer, pulling weeds and helping ensure that over 200 species of native plants have the space they need to flourish.
We’re looking for volunteers who can commit for the full summer. Our land manager will provide full instruction on plant identification and weed removal. In addition, this is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to learn about establishing, restoring, and maintaining native landscapes.
