Fire in Fall

Autumn hits tree leaves like a

contagious wildfire.

A brilliant orange flame at the bottom reaches wider and climbs higher.

Energetic and free, the color spreads to every leaf it knows.

Sadly, the brisk winds extinguish the flames

with bellowing blows.

The Autumn that instinctively ignites fire and daringly wipes

burning flames away

is also responsible for the shortening of the day.

Hearty king from September twenty-two through

December twenty-one,

Autumn gives and takes at will for the sake

of vibrant fun.
