The Friends are hosting free in person writing workshops with Troy Hess, the founder of On the Yahara Writing Center. The writing workshops will start Tuesday December 14th. Troy will lead two classes.
DECEMBER- Rivers, Birds and Trees: Finding Mary Oliver at Pheasant Branch Conservancy
Class 1: Tuesday December 14- 10:30 to noon
Class 2: Tuesday December 21- 10:30 to noon
In this two part class, we’ll use Mary Oliver’s prolific offerings of poetry about water, birds and trees to consider our own subjects found on previous visits to Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Troy will send along a pdf. attachment including common reading and Zoom link 2-3 days before class meeting. The first class will be an introduction to themes, techniques and turning nature memories to poetry. The second class participants can share their own favorite Mary Oliver poems.
Participants will meet with Troy via Zoom.
