On Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day!), R&M held their first workday of 2023. From 9am-noon a total of 18 volunteers gathered along the trail near Orchid Heights Park and across from the Bock Forest, removing invasive buckthorn and honeysuckle. We were grateful for the successful signup on our website at pheasantbranch.org and for this hard-working, fun-loving and diverse group of people. They accomplished an amazing amount of invasive removal (take a look at the piles of brush along the trail!) and the City of Middleton will take it from here in chipping and mulching the removed species. The FOPBC and R&M are grateful for our developing collaboration with the City Of Middleton in the continuation of our restoration work within the PBC. If you are interested in volunteering for a Saturday morning workday or Sunday afternoon seed collection day, sign up on this website. We would love to see you out there with us. It is truly a work of love for the PBC and remember, time spent in nature, work or play, is also beneficial for your physical and mental health
