Over the last 30 years, the mission of the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy has embraced three goals: restoring native ecosystems, providing environmental education, and collecting data that informs our efforts. For the last 8 years Rob Schubert has been our land manager, guiding our efforts to restore, protect and promote our work in the Conservancy.
Starting June 1, Tucker Sanborn began a new chapter in the story of the Conservancy. Tucker obtained his BA in Conservation Biology, with a minor in Environmental Studies, at UW-Madison in 2020. He comes to us with a wealth of experience in land stewardship including mapping and removal of invasive species, native plant restoration, seed collection, and participating in prescribed burns. His work has taken him to places as far away as Texas national forests, the Umpqua National Forest in southern Oregon’s Cascade Range, and, closer to home, in Wisconsin’s Goose Pond Sanctuary.
Please join us in welcoming Tucker to lead us in our work on behalf of Pheasant Branch Conservancy.
You will have the perfect opportunity to say hello to Tucker as he guides us on our seasonal volunteer workdays–see the schedule of events here.
