Pheasant Branch Conservancy: Yearly Transitions from 6 Sites

Our Land Manager, Rob Schubert, asked me in early Fall of 2019 if I was interested in a new photographic project. He explained that he was interested in following the seasonal transitions within PBC with relatively frequent sequential photographs from the same sites throughout an entire year. As a regular hiker, photographer and Restoration and Management Committee member, I was immediately interested. It would get me out into the Conservancy on a frequent basis throughout the entire year and the resulting sequential still photos might lead to some interesting projects. Rob and I agreed on 6 sites I could access throughout the year and the project was started in the Fall of 2019. So, from October 2019 to October 2020 I was able to take 44 still shots from each of the same 6 sites. I “loosely” attempted to frame each shot similarly, utilizing the same camera and lens settings. After completing these photo shots I began to envision how they might be best displayed for others to view. I decided to create 6 videos, each approximately 5 minutes long, utilizing Final Cut Pro X, displaying the photos sequentially. Thanks to my video mentor, Dale Klubertanz, for his tutelage, ideas and editing expertise. The Site 1 video is ready for viewing; Site 2 is nearing completion and Site 3 is in “production”. I hope you enjoy viewing the yearly transitions of PBC from 6 Sites. Here is the link for Site 1:
