Mother Nature must have been a member of the planning committee for a special half-day program on Tuesday, August 24th. The rain and extreme heat held off until after 40-45 enthusiastic participants had enjoyed music by local musicians and various learning stations facilitated by trained Naturalists.
This was the fourth year of the Make a Memory Day programs designed to introduce previously underserved populations to the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. This day was the first outing for most of the older adult participants since the pandemic halted previously planned activities and events.
Make a Memory Days have been hosted by the Friends’ Accessibility and Use Committee in collaboration with the Education Committee for the past four years. Grants from Bader Philanthropies Inc and the Dane County Parks Foundation supported this August 24th program at Orchid Heights Park.
