Homestead Site
Take in vews of the Conservancy’s marsh at this former farmstead at the base of Pheasant Branch Hill.
Located at the base of Pheasant Branch Hill (formerly known as Fredericks Hill), this is the location of the former Fredericks family home, and it offers great views of the Conservancy’s marsh. The Frederick family operated a farm on the site, and the land was purchased by Dane County in 1994 for the Conservancy. Parking is available nearby at the Pheasant Branch Road parking lot on the west side of the Conservancy (about a 10-minute walk) or Orchid Heights Park on the east side of the Conservancy (about a 15-minute walk).
