Winter is the best time to visit Pheasant Branch Conservancy! The lack of foliage can make some of our winter residents easier to spot, and tracks in fresh snow reveal just how much is going on in the Conservancy that escapes our regular notice.

Winter Adventures in Pheasant Branch Conservancy

There are no groomed cross-country ski or snowshoe trails, but after a significant snowfall folks will be out exploring the winter wonderland, making their own tracks (sticking to the trail system, of course).

Pheasant Branch is a conservancy, so land managers do not remove snow from the trails or apply salt. While in the freeze-thaw cycle, heavily traveled trails and paths can become very icy, so caution and traction devices are advised.
