About the Main Loop Trail

The Main Loop Trail is the Conservancy’s signature hiking route, offering one of the best ways to experience its diverse landscapes in a single walk. The approximately 3.3-mile loop winds through restored prairie, peaceful wetlands, mature woodlands, and open natural areas while connecting many of the Conservancy’s most popular destinations.

Along the way, visitors can enjoy seasonal wildflowers, abundant birdlife, scenic overlooks, and opportunities to observe wildlife throughout the year. Because the trail passes through several distinct habitats, no two visits are exactly alike, making it a favorite destination in every season.

Whether you’re visiting for a leisurely walk, nature photography, birdwatching, or simply to enjoy the outdoors, the Main Loop Trail provides an excellent introduction to everything the Pheasant Branch Conservancy has to offer.

The Main Loop Trail can be accessed from several locations throughout the Conservancy. This trailhead is conveniently located adjacent to one of the Conservancy’s primary parking areas, providing easy access to the complete 3.3-mile loop.
